Celine Borthayre is a formalwear designer based in Coastal South Carolina.  Originally from North Carolina, she received a Bachelor of Science in Fashion and Textile Design from NC State University.

 

While in college, Celine participated in and won first place in three fashion competitions and shows including the collegiate division of Greensboro Fashion Week, the African American Textile Society Fashion Expose, and the Raleigh Recycled Fashion Environmental Award.  As an incoming freshman, she was awarded a full-tuition Centennial Scholarship by the Wilson College of Textiles and North Carolina Textile Foundation. Throughout college she also gained industry experience working fashion retail and as a sewing and design intern for fashion designer, Lisa N. Hoang.

Upon graduating in 2021, she entered the corporate design field as an Assistant Designer at White House Black Market to gain a new perspective and understanding of the fashion design industry.  At the end of 2022 however, she decided to follow her dreams of starting out on her own and she launched her fashion business working with clients to create their perfect custom dress and renting gowns to photographers for photoshoots across the country.  In February of 2023 she premiered her collection, "Dawn of Love" NYFW Fashion Week Haus.
